Stacked Herb Garden

Planting herbs in pots is one of the simplest ways to get started with a home herb garden. In this section, you will learn how to prepare your soil and which herbs will grow best in your area. In the previous article, I mentioned how to prepare the soil by removing old topsoil and adding compost and vermiculite to replace it. There are additional methods to preparing your soil, but these are two of the most effective.

When you plant your herbs in containers, your garden is ready to begin immediately. However, there are two different types of pots you can purchase from a home and garden center, Terra cotta pots or clay pots. Each of these has its own benefits and drawbacks, so depending on your budget and preferences, you may consider one type over the other. In this article, I discuss the pros and cons of each type of container. Hopefully, after reading this article, you will have a better idea of which plant nursery you should purchase your herbs from based on the pots they use.

First off, let’s take a look at pots made from clay. These pots are probably the largest pot you will need for your stacked herb garden. They come in all shapes and sizes and are often made of a strong, durable material such as terracotta or ceramic. Clay pots are best suited for small garden herb gardens, as their small size makes them easy to store and transport. In addition, they also keep moisture and soil out better than Terra cotta pots, making them the ideal choice for the beginning gardener.

If you plan to grow an extremely large amount of herbs, you may be able to invest in a vertical herb tower. A vertical herb tower is a series of pots placed on top of one another, with the bottom pot placed directly above the topmost pot. The idea behind this type of gardening is that herbs grown in pots directly above them will grow faster and healthier because air can reach the top of the herbs. You will save time by having the herbs grow in the sunlight instead of being under it, but you may need a strong framework to support the largest plants you plan to grow.

As for growing herbs inside the house, there are two popular options. One option involves keeping an outdoor herb garden. Herbs can be grown indoors in window boxes, hanging baskets, or any other structure available. This method is popular among people who live in colder climates, because it allows them to keep their herbs where they can get ample sun to grow. However, herbs do better when they are kept in the sunlight, so this might be something to take into consideration if your herbs will be growing in direct sunlight.

The other method of growing herbs indoors in a large pot is by growing herbs in a hanging basket. These are usually referred to as “herb gardens” since the pots are typically basket-like. Hanging baskets can be made of any type of material, such as brick or Terra cotta, and can be suspended from the ceiling using hooks or bungee cords. You will need to hang the herbs in the baskets in order to get good, consistent growing conditions, and it can be important to place the pots on support brackets in order to prevent soil from spilling over the sides of the container.
